Esper, US Secretary of the Army quoted by AFP, explained that “the terrains which the Polish government wants to allocate for the military base are too small if you take into account the necessary artillery exercises and functioning of training grounds.” The so called “Fort Trump” was meant to be located near Toruń or Bydgoszcz, North-West of Warsaw.

Esper underlined that the biggest issue would be transportation. The American military must have full freedom in moving around Europe. “Any administrative or infrastructure impediments would delay operations in case of conflict”.
