Zeman celebrates six years in office

On Sunday at Prague Castle, President Miloš Zeman thanked hundreds of his supporters for their support. Among others, PM Andrej Babiš and his wife Monika attended the celebration.

At the beginning of March each year, Zeman regularly hosts a celebration with his supporters. The president, in a brief speech at the start of the meeting, did not focus on political issues but announced that the main star of the evening would be French chansonnier Mireille Mathieu, who came to Prague for the European tour, Made in France. The singer sold out two public concerts that took place on Friday and Saturday at the Congress Center in Prague.

Some 1,000 guests attended the ceremony, among them were, for example, the Prime Minister and his wife, Minister of Finance Alena Schillerová, and former Ministers of the Interior and Foreign Affairs Martin Pecina and Jan Kohout.

Miloš Zeman first won the election in 2013, winning the second mandate a year ago.
