Hungarian water polo scores double victory

Thursday was a really good day for Hungarian water polo: the women’s national team made it into the quarter-finals of the World League Super Final, while the men’s club team Ferencváros reached the semi-final of the Champions League.

The women’s team beat Canada 16:14 in a Budapest match, finishing third in the group and will face the Netherlands in the quarter-final.

Ferencváros – in a narrow 11:10 win defeated Jug Dubrovnik of Croatia Hanover, Germany and will face Spain’s Barceloneta in the semi-finals. Though the results suggest differently, the men’s game was clearly dominated by Ferencváros, while the women’s team clawed their way to victory only in the last quarter.
