Mercedes Hungary wins best employer award

Mercedes Benz Manufacturing Hungary – a unit of the German Daimler AG automotive group – has won the 2019 employer of the year award.

The award – established by Dutch brand research company Randstad – was established six years ago. This year Randstad’s ranking again confirmed that the three most important considerations for employees are wages, workplace atmosphere and job stability.

The rankings saw LEGO Hungary in second place and IBM in third position.

Among economic sectors, IT is employees’ favourite, followed by telecommunications and service centers. Randstad’s research also showed that last year 23 percent of Hungarian employees in the survey changed jobs – mainly for better salaries and/or better working conditions.

Mercedes Benz Manufacturing Hungary was established in 2008 in the Central Hungarian town of Kecskemét. It currently employs almost 5,000 people and has its own dedicated rail line linking it to the national rail network. It assembles Mercedes’ B, CLA and CLA Shooting Brake models.

Hungary was chosen as the location of Mercedes’ assembly plant in a fierce competition with Poland, Romania and Slovakia.
