Polish economy is booming

EC: Poland is in a good economic period

The European Commission has positively evaluated the state of the Polish economy. The report highlighted low unemployment rates and the steady decrease of social inequalities.

The EC wrote in the report that Poland is going through a good economic period. The report was delivered at a conference by the European Commission Vice-President Valdis Dombrovskis.

“The economic conditions remain beneficial. There is a high economic growth and owing to that growth, the situation of public finances is gradually improving. The fiscal deficit is also lower. We are also seeing an improvement in recoverability of taxes. Therefore, in the short-term there is no threat for the fiscal balance,” Dombrovskis stated.

The EC Vice-President added, that in the long-term Brussels has noticed a risk concerning spending connected to retirement and the ageing of Polish society. EC experts wrote in the report, that there is the issue of a lack of a qualified workforce, which makes development in several sectors difficult.

The EC has again drawn attention to, in their opinion, strained involvement in the work market due to the inadequate number of care centers for children.
