Opinion: Poland's Finest Hour

Poland is growing up into a great country, thanks to the hearts of its citizens. In his manifesto, writer Witold Gadowski calls for strong action in the face of many warnings sent Poland's way.

When obstacles pile up everywhere, when a dark growl approaches from each direction, there is no point in hysteria. It is important to calmly sit down against a wall and consider how to achieve victory.

Are even harsher warnings necessary to look up and take action? If I see a wall on each side and I’m drowning in a swamp, I have to take a breath of fresh air and look up into infinite freedom, in the most optimistic direction invented by humanity.

I am convinced that Poland will come out whole in the face of all these attacks. I am convinced that the time of the resounding Great Bells of Freedom is coming. I just feel, deep in my bones, that good times are coming.

So, turn off those devilish televisions, burn the newspapers and listen, listen to how fresh blood is beginning to run in Poland’s veins. A new generation is coming, new thoughts and patriotism which is not afraid of the challenges of modernity.

Poland has an unbreakable spirit, which shows itself in the hard, often darkest times. The hardest it is, the more interesting it is for a Pole. We will face what comes and emerge stronger than ever. We will purify Poland, rise above heated emotions, because what awaits us is larger and wiser than all the strategies of political degenerates.

We are a nation burned with a great responsibility – we must lead Europe by example. An example, under which the Old World will return to its former self. So go and laugh all you Biedrońs, Kwaśniewskis and Schetynas – your mockery is droplets of ice, falling from the feet of Poland, who is striding to get you.
