Russia should pay war reparations to Poland for its actions during the Second World War, declared PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński, who added that he doubts Poland’s current generation will ever live to see Russia admit responsibility,

In an interview for German newspaper Bild, Kaczyński emphasized that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s recent attacks are meant to draw attention to Poland and away from Russia’s role in the Second World War, all in an effort for Putin to hide his country’s involvement in the outbreak of the conflict.

The statesman pointed out that “the world knows the truth” about the Second World War.

“It was the Soviet Union under Stalin’s command who invaded Poland on September 17th, 1939. It was Soviet soldiers and NKVD executioners who murdered thousands of Polish officers in Katyń and other places,” Kaczyński explained.

Kaczyński believed that Putin does not like the idea of showing Poles as victims and Russians as culprits, which is why the Russian president wants to rewrite history.

The PiS leader stressed that the Polish government will never ignore the fact that Poland has never received war reparations.
