The exhibition – opened by Gerard Figueras, secretary general for sports of the Catalonian government – commemorates the “Golden Team” of the 1950s and the players who later joined Barcelona: Zoltán Czibor, Sándor Kocsis, László Kubala and Ferenc Puskás.

Figueras said Catalonian sports had the privilege to have such outstanding players join FC Barcelona and help enhance the love of football there.

During the inauguration of exhibition, short excerpts from the “Match of the Century” were screened. 65 years ago on November 25th the Hungarian national team beat England 6-3 at Wembley Stadium in front of some 105,000 British fans. Forward midfielder Nándor Hidegkuti scored a hat-trick in that game.
