The November unemployment data shows that the Czech labor market does not report any major changes, and while the jobless rate is likely to increase slightly in the coming months, it will go back to the current level in February, according to economists.

“In the coming months, registered unemployment will probably stagnate or slightly increase in connection with the gradual termination of seasonal and fixed-term work,” said Kateřina Sadílková, the General Manager of the Czech Labor Office.

In November, the Labor Office registered 323,542 job vacancies which is 6,658 more than in October and 109,752 more than a year ago. In November, an average job vacancy per applicant was 0.7. Employers remain interested in new employees, mostly in technical and workers fields.

The lowest, 1.8 percent, unemployment rate remains in the Pardubice Region. In Prague and the Pilsen region it was 1.9 percent and in the South Bohemia Region and Hradec Králové Region, 2 percent. On the contrary, the highest, 4.3 percent, is in the Moravian-Silesian and the Ústí regions.
