Czaputowicz argued that an important element of European integration is the development of cooperation in Cental-Eastern Europe.
“The most important forums for regional cooperation are the Visegrad Four, the Three Seas Initiative and the Bucharest Nine,” Czaputowicz explained.
The Foreign Minister underlined that the V4 is important to Poland due to being a base for carrying out international politics and realizing the interests of Central Europe on the international arena. He also reminded that the V4’s stance on migration reflected on the decision of the entire EU.

Czaputowicz explained that the Three Seas Initiative started by the Polish and Croatian presidents in 2015 is developing positively. The Three Seas is meant to be a mechanism for cooperation between twelve Central-Eastern Europe states in terms of transport, energy and cybernetics.
“We hope that the development of transport-communication connections over longitudes – North-South will help deepen cooperation in this part of Europe and strengthen the EU,” he said.
Baltic and Balkan states
The minister also expressed satisfaction with the development of relations with the Baltic States: “Together with the Baltic countries we share the assessment of threats coming from the East and we aim to improve transatlantic bonds and synchronize our energy infrastructure.”
Czaputowicz also claimed that Poland is actively supporting the European integration of the Balkan states.
