According to the report published by ACEA, Poland is 17thin the ranking of 25 EU member states. In the first half of 2018, 273 thousand new cars were distributed to Polish car dealerships, which is a 10.5% increase compared to 2017.
The majority of Polish cars are purchased by companies and they are the main factor in the number of cars sold in dealerships. Therefore, these companies are also responsible for the age decrease.
However, for every new car model in Poland there are six outdated vehicles. According to the data of the Polish Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (PVRLA), Poles still buy used cars that are over ten years old. Between January and November 2018, more than 54 percent of cars purchased were over ten years old.

The issue with old vehicles is that due to their poor technical state, they pose greater danger on the road. It is not only their age that is a problem, but also their incomplete documentation. The cars imported from abroad are often in worse shape than advertised.
