According to predictions, 99.9 million cars will be produced globally in 2018, while nearly 1.3 billion cars are already running on the streets.

In Slovakia, 1,025 million cars were made during 2017, 5,000 less than the previous year due to renovation works taking place at the factories.

Today, two car factories based in Slovakia are producing vehicles for all of Europe, PSA Peugeot Citroën Slovakia and Kia Motors.

Bratislava-based Volkswagen Slovakia is also specialising in SUV’s for the world market and a similar approach was taken by Jaguar, which opened its Nitra department in October. This is also the only location where the Land Rover Discovery is being produced.

The number of cars being produced in Slovakia will increase in 2019 and beyond.
