American intelligence warned the Hungarian authorities about an armed action planned for October 23 about two weeks ago, Telex reported, also stating that there has been no official confirmation of this news.

We know that the American secret services provided the Hungarian authorities with information that indicated that certain persons may be preparing for armed action on the anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution of 1956.

Over the weekend, Hungary’s Counter Terrorism Centre (TEK) detained half a dozen young people, both men and women, at a pub in Budapest’s 16th district.

The police were able to make the arrests based on information provided by American intelligence. However, Telex reports, that only airsoft weapons and at least one deactivated weapon were found on those detained

Telex has requested further information from the National Police Headquarters, the Central Investigative Prosecutor General’s Office, and the Ministry of the Interior and will report on any additional facts when received.

The owner of the Legenda pub, where the arrests took place told Telex that the youths were about to enter the pub when arrested. However, the pub was not informed about what was going on.
