Another trial involving a foreigner committing a rape of an underage girl is ongoing in Vienna, Austria. This time, a 27-year-old Syrian man has been convicted of raping a 14-year-old girl in the Donaustadt district, with the girl’s pregnant mother fainting after learning her daughter had been raped.

The girl, who was missing from her family, was raped on April 10, 2024. According to the prosecutor, the girl went home with three Syrian men, who offered that she should stay at their place during the night. She admitted to taking drugs at the time.

During the incident, one of the Syrians is pulled down her pants and underwear, restrained her arms, and forcibly penetrated the victim. She told him to stop repeatedly, but he refused.

The Syrian man said he “suddenly” ejaculated that morning, which “caused him to panic.”

“I suddenly saw semen dripping down my body. Then, I panicked,” he said, while denying that he had sexual intercourse with the victim, according to Austrian outlet Kronen Zeitung.

The DNA evidence confirms the man had sexual intercourse with the minor.

He claimed that he did not remember attacking the girl, and that she came to him. He also denied knowing that she was 14.

“This is my first time in court and I’m completely confused. I don’t know what to do,” he said while bursting into tears.

The victim told her mother about the rape the following day.

The mother told the court as witness, “I was pregnant at the time and fainted.”

A friend of the family picked the victim up at the apartment. During the trial, the girl testified, “I tried to stay awake. He attacked me all over. He wouldn’t leave.”

The girl was interviewed by officers, who then submitted her for psychiatric treatment. She only filed a police report due to her mother’s urging.

“She said it was so it wouldn’t happen to other girls,” said the girl.

While the defense attorney argued for acquittal, the judge found the man guilty. He has been sentenced to four and half years in prison for rape, but the verdict is not yet legally binding.
