The net financial assets of Czechs are two and a half times higher than Slovaks. In the global rankings, Czechs improved their position last year by two places to 26th place.
The growth of Czech households´ financial assets reached 4.4 percent in 2017, compared to 6.8 percent in 2016. The average net wealth per capita was EUR 15,290 in the Czech Republic last year, which is about CZK 390,000 according to the current exchange rate.
In Slovakia, the average wealth per capita was about 2.5 times less than in the Czech Republic last year. The wealth of average Poles in the year 2017 amounted to 211,000 koruna. The difference between former Western and Eastern Europe is still considerable, German-speaking neighbors are financially about 3.5 times better than the Czechs.
