Over the weekend, federal police arrested a 37-year-old Lebanese migrant with an incredible 28 different aliases at Aachen Central Station in Germany.
His asylum application had already been rejected, in the past and an entry and residence ban had already been imposed, as reported by the “Aachener Zeitung,” citing the Aachen police.
The man was traveling on a regional train from Belgium at around 10:30 p.m. on Dec. 6. He presented German officials with a Lebanese passport and an Italian residence permit, however, this document was not valid in the Schengen area, a hint that it may have been a forgery.
According to the Aachen police, he was registered in the police search system under 28 different aliases.
The Lebanese man was already well known to German police for his history of narcotics offenses. His asylum application in Germany was definitively rejected in April 2025.
The German Federal Police took him into custody to prepare for his renewed deportation. However, the news article does not indicate where he is being deported to. In all likelihood, it is another European state.
The case highlights not only how many migrants who have arrived in Europe over the previous years have multiple false identities, but also how police are often unable to keep them from freely traveling around Europe.
In fact, 400,000 migrants exist in Germany with the birthday Jan. 1, which was given to all migrants who entered the country without documentation. Recently, a trial involving ten Syrians charged with chasing a victim until he fell off an eight-story balcony, revealed that five of them feature such Jan. 1 birthdays.
It is also extremely common for migrants, especially those involved in criminal activities, to have many different aliases.
