The bodies of a mother, along with her two young children, were discovered on Sunday in Berlin-Marzahn inside apartment.

The 31-year-old woman, and her two daughters, who were five and six, both lived with the father in Ludwig_Renn Street. The family was from Egypt.

There is no trace of the father at the moment, but police are searching for him. He was last seen Friday.

The family has been in the apartment for five years, and the children were known to play with other children in the apartment complex playground, according to German newspaper BZ.

“The girls were always so sweet,” said a neighbor who is a friend of the family. However, she had not seen the mother and her daughters for a long time.

“I never expected something like this. I have to process it first,” she said.

“We never heard any arguments,” said another neighbor. The partner was described as a “very quiet guy.”

It appears he was a stay-at-home dad, who was known to pick up his kids from daycare and school while the mother trained to work in a kindergarten.
