4iG Space and Defense Technologies Ltd. (4iG SDT) and the Czech company Tatra Trucks have signed an exclusive agreement, opening a new chapter in the companies’ cooperation and laying the foundation for the development of a long-term strategic partnership, 4iG announced on Monday, as cited by Magyar Nemzet.

Under the commercial agreement, 4iG SDT acquires the exclusive right to represent Tatra Trucks in Hungary and to sell its military and special vehicles.

The aim of the cooperation is to introduce Tatra’s heavy-duty vehicle platforms, known for their off-road capabilities, to the Hungarian market within a structured commercial and professional framework, primarily for national defense, security, and other special state uses.

The agreement goes beyond the Hungarian market launch: The parties are also exploring further domestic industrial cooperation opportunities, including the entire manufacturing, assembly process, and life-cycle support solutions, as well as vehicle maintenance. Rába Járműipari Holding (Rába), which is expected to become majority owned by 4iG SDT in early January 2026, and which has significant domestic defense industrial capacities, may play a prominent role in this process.

In the future, the agreement may also provide a basis for 4iG SDT to participate in the production of complete vehicles related to Tatra vehicles, in addition to components and subsystems, as well as in the preparation of new, joint development and market projects, even in markets outside Hungary.

The long-term goal of the parties is to make Rába, which has a 129-year history, the second-largest production and development center in Europe, serving the Central European region of Tatra.

The exclusive cooperation agreement is in line with the long-term strategy of 4iG SDT and the 4iG Group, which aims to make modern, NATO-compatible defense solutions available on the domestic market in cooperation with international technology partners, while strengthening Hungary’s role in the regional defense industrial value chain.

The agreement to integrate ground mobility capabilities is a key project of 4iG SDT’s land business, ensuring the development of a complex defense industrial portfolio based on land-aerospace competencies.
