Russia will provide Iran with Iskander missile systems and Murmansk-BN electronic warfare systems, the Kyiv Post reported recently, citing Israeli sources.

The first shipments have already arrived in Iran, along with the Russian specialists needed to operate them.

The Iskander is a missile system with a range of about 500 kilometers, while the Murmansk-BN can cripple electronic communication systems from a distance of up to 5,000 kilometers.

The Iskander is not particularly dangerous for Israel, which is more than 1,000 kilometers from Iran. However, it is possible to equip the system with R-500 cruise missiles, which have a range of up to 1,500 kilometers.

Recently, Sergei Shoigu, the chairman of the Russian National Security Council, visited Iran in person. Tensions in the region are now very high, and Iran could attack Israel at any time in retaliation for the suspected assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the political leader of Hamas, it has been reported.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has previously warned as a theoretical possibility that Russia could equip countries hostile to America with advanced, long-range weapons.
