Poles trust their banks

Poles trust banks with their money, claims a survey by the Public Opinion Research Center (CBOS). 68 percent of Poles claim that their money in bank accounts is safe, which is the highest number in the last decade.

In addition to believing that their money is safe, 68 percent of Poles also think that banks work in the correct way.

CBOS reports that the people more convinced by banks are those who have obtained higher education and are in a better financial situation. Positive respondents also included younger people and those living in large towns. 

84 percent of Poles use banking services

The surveyed also positively evaluated the work of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority and trust that banks are overseen properly. CBOS stated that 84 percent of Poles use banking services. 

In comparison, 2006 was the last year with such a high number of Poles trusting banks – 74 percent. In 2008 that number dropped to 59 percent and in 2012 it hovered around 62 percent.
