The North Korean army units fighting for Russia in Kursk are being replenished to make up for the losses suffered, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry’s Main Intelligence Directorate announced, according to Magyar Nemzet. This comes as Hungarian PM Viktor Orbán has been pushing for a ceasefire over the Christmas holiday to stem further deaths at least for a short time.
At least 30 North Korean soldiers were reportedly killed or wounded during attacks on Ukrainian troops in the Kursk region of Russia on December 14 and 15.
Now, Moscow is sending in more assault forces from the 94th Independent Brigade of the North Korean Army to continue active combat operations in the area, Ukrainian military intelligence has stated.
Kyiv had previously released photos and videos of Russian and North Korean soldiers killed in Saturday’s attacks in the Kursk region.

Orbán has most recently said Russian President Putin had agreed to his Christmas ceasefire proposal, while Ukrainian President Zelensky rejected it, even refusing to take a phone call from Orbán to discuss it. Meanwhile, incoming U.S. President Trump has vowed to find a way to stop “the carnage.”
