Trump has admitted that he previously thought it would be easiest for him to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict because he got along well with Vladimir Putin.
He maintains that the two leaders “have a very good dialogue” and the war will end, but it is taking longer than he anticipated.
Calling the war “complicated,” Trump told TalkRadio 77 WABC, “I thought this was going to be the easiest one. I said this one’s gonna go pretty quickly, but it’s complicated.”
He also laid blame on the “hatred” between Putin and Zelensky, while also decrying the “5,000 to 7,000 people” dying every week because of Russia’s aggression.
“But we’re gonna get it done,” he assured listeners.
Do Rzeczy cited recent reports that Moscow is confident it will be able to capture the entire Donbas by the end of this year. Meanwhile, Zelensky has assured this will never happen, saying Putin would need years and millions of additional casualties to gain control of the entire Donetsk Oblast.
