Twelve adult males have been charged in the United Kingdom with historic child sex offenses, a statement by West Yorkshire Police released on Thursday confirmed.
The alleged offenses relate to sexual assaults on girls under the age of 16 in the Bradford and Keighley areas of West Yorkshire in the north of England between 1996 and 1998.
It is understood that one of the victims was under 14 at the time of the alleged attacks.
The accused appeared before Bradford Magistrates Court on Friday where their case was passed on to the Crown Court for trial at a later date.
The charges range from rape and gross indecency to indecent assault of underage girls.
Those charged and now awaiting trial at the Crown Court are as follows:
- Abdul Shukoor, 45, from Keighley, has been charged with gross indecency and indecent assault of a girl under 14.
- Amreaz Ashghar, 45, from Keighley, has been charged with 2 counts of rape and indecent assault of a girl under 16 and gross indecency of a girl under 14.
- Perwaz Ashghar, 48, from Nottingham, has been charged with indecent assault of a girl under 16.
- Mohamed Shabir Din, 45, from Keighley, has been charged with 6 counts of rape and 2 counts of indecent assault of a girl under 16.
- Ibrar Hussain, 44, from Keighley, was charged with rape.
- Sajid Mahmood, 42, from Keighley, was charged with rape.
- Zehroon Razaq, 44, from Keighley, has been charged with rape.
- Sheraz Ahktar Khan, 44, from Keighley, has been charged with rape.
- Mushtaq Ahmed, 52, from Keighley, has been charged with 2 counts of rape and indecent assault against a girl under the age of 16.
- Imtiaz Ahmed, 58, from Keighley, was charged with 2 counts of rape.
- Fayaz Ahmed, 42, of Bingley, has been charged with 2 counts of rape.
- Willard Anthony Clunis, 64, of Bradford, has been charged with indecent assault of a girl under 16.
