Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán spoke at the first national meeting of his Digital Civic Circles (DKP) program at Budapest’s Papp László Sports Arena on Saturday. There, he reiterated his party’s trajectory for Hungary and announced that a peace march would take place on Oct. 23.

The Fidesz-KDNP alliance is rallying support and moving into full campaign mode as Hungary’s April 2026 parliamentary elections near.

The DKP online community serves as Hungary’s digital border fortress system to protect Hungarian culture, language and identity. More than 70,000 people have already joined the initiative, including public figures, artists, athletes and scientists, writes Magyar Nemzet, which covered the prime minister’s speech.

“What a day! More than 10,000 patriots gathered at our Digital Civic Circles event. Proud Hungarians, united and strong – I was honoured to share my thoughts with them. Let’s make Hungary and Europe great again! “ Orbán posted on X.

After noting that these gatherings are outgrowing all venues, the Hungarian prime minister said, “For centuries, the life of every Hungarian generation, its quality, has depended on how we navigate the ship of our country in the waves created by empires. Our grandparents experienced two era changes, then our country did not miss any wars, we came out of them as losers and with heavy losses,” Orbán told those gathered.

“I imagined that I was born in a losing country, but would die in a winning country, because we would make Hungary great. We do not want war, we do not want to lose a single Hungarian life,” he stated.

Offering no mercy to Brussels, he said: “European leaders have turned the European Union into a bankrupt mass.”

His generation had already achieved a change of era in 1990 and had rescued Hungary from the falling beams of communism, the prime minister noted. However, now the hope that a change of era would be enough has been shattered, the EU leaders have squandered the chance, he said.

“No one denies anymore that Western Europe is struggling in a serious crisis, the German Chancellor announced the end of the welfare state, energy prices in France are skyrocketing, the customs agreement with the USA is simply tragic. According to Mario Draghi, the former president of the European Central Bank, the continent is stumbling towards collapse,” he continued.

“It must be said: We must not copy them, because we will also end up on a losing track. Let us say that we have remained a migrant-free country, and that our family policy and tax system are better. Let us dare to follow our own path and build our own economy, let us dare to make Hungary great again,” Hungary’s prime minister told those gathered.

“We reject the path that Brussels is offering us. If we take it, Hungarian money will go to Ukraine, because Brussels is at war. This is worse than the 10 plagues. There is no war in Hungary and there will be no war, there are no migrants here and there will be no migrants, and Ukraine will not be a member of the EU either,” Orbán said.

On the nation’s capital of Budapest, still under opposition control, he added: “We will never give up on Budapest. We will never allow the liberals and the police to turn the nation’s capital into a migrant haven, a drug den, and an LGBTQ paradise.”

Noting that he had also met people from Békéscsaba at the DPK event, Orbán noted the huge investment announced there on Friday. “We are building an economy where there is butter on the edge of the bread,” he said, noting that both those living in rural Hungary and in Budapest can count on the government.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó had announced on Friday that Singaporean Vulcan Shield Global will establish world-class manufacturing facilities for high-tech ceramic-fiber insulation materials in Békéscsaba. The development will create 2,500 new jobs in the coming years and consist of three separate investments worth up to HUF 280 billion (€720 million).

It is the largest investment ever in the history of Békéscsaba and Békés County.

Listing off other recent accomplishments of his government, Orbán mentioned Europe’s most attractive housing program, its largest tax reduction program, a country-building plan for the next 10 years, and, of course, continued border protection.

Turning back to the success of Fidesz’s recent campaign initiatives, which aim to protect both “the homeland and freedom in the digital space,” he noted, “72,000 people have joined the digital civic circles and 46,000 have joined the Warriors’ Club.”

“The monopoly of the globalist network that builds hatred has been broken. The DPK provides reliable protection against left-wing madness and has released enormous constructive energies,” he told the audience.

“We will cover the entire country, and we must tell everyone that our homeland is on the verge of a new era, and how to avoid the wrong path and set off on the right path.”

“We welcome everyone who loves their homeland and does not want to be a humble servant of Brussels. We are many, we are strong, and we will prevail. We will make Hungary great, if you want that too,” concluded Orbán.
