Sławomir Mentzen, the Confederation’s candidate for president of Poland, was added to the list of the Myrotvorets organization, which is responsible for identifying people considered “enemies of Ukraine.”

In a statement published by the organization, he was accused of “inciting ethnic hatred” and “spreading Russian propaganda.” Myrotvoreć is waiting for a reaction from the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Myrotvorets is a Ukrainian non-governmental organization that has been conducting activities for over 10 years aimed at “investigating people who may pose a threat to the security of Ukraine,” as the NGO describes itself. In the past, its list included other Confederation politicians, such as Grzegorz Braun, Rafał Mekler, Piotr Zduńczyk and the former leader of the group, Janusz Korwin-Mikke.

The announcement also mentioned a recording that Mentzen published on social media from Lviv. Together with Confederation MEP Anna Bryłka, they demanded an end to the cult of Stepan Bandera. The mayor of the Ukrainian city of Lviv, Andriy Sadovy, quickly reacted to these words, calling Mentzen a “pro-Russian politician.”

Mentzen responded by saying that Sadovy should be ashamed, and in the event of winning the presidential elections, he promised to take care of banning Sadovy from entering Poland.

The right-wing Polish politician, who has trailed in the presidential race but jumped to second place in last week’s polling for the first time, wrote on X: “I am Polish and I went to the beautiful and culturally Polish city of Lviv, which the Russians once did a lot of damage to. There I saw a monument to Bandera, a cult of Bandera criminals headed by Shukhevych. You should be ashamed that in such a magnificent city you agree to a cult of genocidal, criminal and murderers of my countrymen. You should be banned from entering Poland. Believe me, if I win, I will take care of this urgently.”

The Confederation expects the reaction of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs to threats that Sławomir Mentzen is undergoing related to Mentzen’s statements on Ukraine. The Polish candidate claims that these threats were sent by, among others, historian Vakhtang Kipiani.
