The days of Hungary’s persecution from the United States may soon be coming to an end, at least that is what Donald Trump Jr., the son of President-elect Donald Trump, already told Hungarian media this past summer. During an interview with Mandiner at the MCC conference, he put U.S. Ambassador to Hungary David Pressman on notice that he would be kicked to the curb if his father won in November.

Trump Jr. told Zoltán Szalai, the editor-in-chief of Mandiner, that Pressman’s attacks are “unprecedented” and “ridiculous,” saying things “will change the second my father wins.”

Pressman has waged a non-stop scorched Earth campaign against Hungary’s government since he was appointed to Budapest. The Hungarian government has looked on in shock as he has attempted to influence elections, fund the opposition, and meddle in the internal affairs of Hungary at an unprecedented level.

During the interview, Trump Jr. directly addressed the issue of the ambassador, saying: “This is intentional. Ambassadors don’t talk like that. Most countries follow the globalist movement instead of acting in the interests of their own citizens. They attack everyone who dares to speak out against this, especially those who are also successful, like Orbán.”

Trump Jr. also addressed Hungary itself, explaining why he believes the country has a superior political system and government.

“Hungary is one of the only European countries where crime rate hasn’t gone through the roof. I wonder why that is? I can’t believe it. We let in millions of people that we don’t know or understand, who don’t share our values, and crime skyrockets. (…) You (Hungary) prevented that; you stopped that. I think it’s a very flagrant attack, I think it’s undiplomatic because I don’t think that’s the job of the ambassador, to sit there and attack,” said Donald Trump Jr.
