Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk celebrated his Civic Coalition’s (KO) high result in a recent election poll on X, ignoring the fact that such results would mean he would lose power. The post sparked an avalanche of comments, writes wPolityce.

The latest poll by Opinia24 indicates that if parliamentary elections were held now, the Civic Coalition would win with the support of 34.8 percent of Poles. The conservative Law and Justice (PiS) would come in second with 27 percent, and the right-wing Confederation would get 18.5 percent.

The Third Way (7.1 percent) and the Left (4.6 percent) would not make it into the Sejm, assuming TD ran again as a coalition, for which there is an 8 percent electoral threshold.

Unfortunately, the increase in support for the Civic Coalition occurred due to the cannibalization of the electorates of their coalition partners.

Despite this, Prime Minister Donald Tusk did not hide his joy at these results in a post on social media.

“Almost 8 points ahead. I love you,” he wrote on X.

The comments were full of responses pointing out to the head of government that such election results would in fact be disastrous for KO.

“Does the Prime Minister realize that in this scenario he is losing power?” asked the president of the #TakDlaCPK association, Maciej Wilk.

“I’ll just add that if anything, according to this study, you’re not ruling,” said Confederation MP Konrad Berkowicz.

“Publicly declaring love to those who prepare these fake posts is funny even for you,” wrote PiS MEP Tobiasz Bocheński.
