According to recent reports from Ukrainian Military Intelligence (HUR), North Korea is supplying more and more weapons and ammunition to Russia.
Russia deployed about 60 North Korean-made KN-23 missiles against Ukraine. And while HUR representative Andrij Csernyak admitted that these missiles are made with outdated technology and their accuracy is not outstanding, he emphasized that they still pose a significant threat. The force of the explosion and the destruction caused by the impact do not depend on the age of the production technology.
According to Csernyak, the movement of various shipments is constantly being monitored, the contents of which are most likely ammunition. The concern is that these supplies are bolstering Russia’s military capabilities and posing a serious threat to Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure and population.
Previous reports have indicated that many components in the KN-23 missiles are actually made in the West, with Ukrainian intelligence saying 70 percent of the parts are made in America, while other components come from Germany and Switzerland.
North Korea has also sent Russia at least 100 artillery systems to Russia, including M1989 self-propelled guns and M1991 rocket launchers, which have a range of 40 kilometers and also pose a significant threat to cities such as Kharkiv.
