The discovery of four men’s bodies in an old building on Grzybowska Street, in central Warsaw’s Wola district, has led to a murder investigation. The bodies were found in varying states of decay, buried in the yard or within the building, which often serves as shelter to the homeless.

Seven people were arrested, and six of them were charged. Those arrested included three women and four men – Poles and Ukrainians aged between 30 and 50.

“Andrij S., a 34-year-old Ukrainian citizen, was charged with committing four murders, while the other individuals were charged with failing to report the crime of murder,” announced prosecutor Szymon Banna from the District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw.

Andrij S. is believed to have committed the murders over an extended period, hiding the victims’ bodies in a building frequented by the homeless. The motives behind these actions remain unclear, though they may involve disputes within the homeless communities of Poles and Ukrainians.

Despite the discovery, the identities of the four male victims have yet to be confirmed. Law enforcement, with the help of military police and geo-radar technology, has thoroughly searched the site but found no indication of additional bodies hidden in the building.

The building, dating back to the 1930s, is slated for renovation.
