Zeman stands in solidarity with Hungary, because it is defending itself from being politically streamlined and regulated by the EU. It is only a matter of time when such attempts will involve Poland or Slovakia. Thus, it is in the Czech Republic’s best interest to stand up against it now, not to end up in the same situation, Zeman said.
Earlier this week, the president criticized the European Parliament for its resolution on Hungary and also the Czech MEPs who voted for triggering Article 7 against Hungary, saying they have a lack of solidarity for the Visegrad group.
