In Poland, the controversial Grzegorz Braun is enjoying an increase in support, with more and more Poles turning to his party. Deputy Speaker of the Sejm and Confederation party co-leader Krzysztof Bosak believes that this is the result of disappointment among existing Law and Justice (PiS) voters, with more conservative voters turning to the right-wing Braun.

A poll by Opinia24 for “Fakty” TVN and TVN24 indicates that the largest increase in support was recorded by Grzegorz Braun’s group, which is the Confederation of the Polish Crown. The left-liberal KO still tops the list, ahead of PiS and Confederation. Based on the current polling results, there would only be four parties in the Sejm.

The poll shows that 32.8 percent of respondents currently want to vote for Donald Tusk’s party, a 1.1-percentage point increase more than the previous study. PiS earned 25.4 percent of support, an increase of 0.3-percentage points. The Confederation obtained a result of 10.7 percent, a drop of 3.9-percentage points.

Quickly rising is the Confederation of the Polish Crown, with 8.6 percent support, an increase of 2.4-percentage points. Other parties did not earn enough to pass the electoral threshold of 5 percent, including by the Left (4.9 percent), Razem (3.5 percent), PSL (2.6 percent) and Polska 2050 (2.1 percent).

Bosak: Braun’s party is growing thanks to PiS disappointment

Deputy Speaker of the Sejm Krzysztof Bosak commented on Tuesday on the increase in support for Grzegorz Braun’s group.

“It seems to me that Grzegorz Braun’s party is largely growing thanks to disillusionment with PiS and the shift of PiS voters to its support base,” said the Confederation politician on Telewizja Republika.

“Perhaps, I do not rule out that there are also a few voters who voted for Confederation because of Grzegorz Braun and now want to vote for him,” he added.

Confederation politician: Those in power are simply lying

The parliamentarian sharply criticized the actions of those in power.

“Generally, those in power just lie. They lie regularly. The worst thing is that they not only lie as a result of tactics. I talk to them privately or unofficially many times, and some of them are, especially people unfortunately responsible for decisions on economic and energy matters, these are indoctrinated people who believe their lies,” said Bosak.

“They are like young communists in the Stalinist period. For example, they believe that if they connect more renewable energy sources to the Polish power system, the price of energy will fall,” he added.

The Confederation politician cited the issue of Russian assets as an example. “The strongest European countries were in favor of freezing these assets, but they were never in favor of transferring them [to Ukraine]. And to my knowledge, Polish politicians who say publicly that it was possible are simply lying,” he said.
