President Miloš Zeman underwent a thorough medical examination at the Central Military Hospital in Prague. According to the president’s office’s statement, he suffers from dehydration and mild exhaustion, but his condition is not life-threatening.
Zeman is said to have undergone CT scans, sonography, and blood samples.
“The mentioned medical examinations did not reveal any diseases or any other problems that would endanger the life of the President of the Republic,” said Jiří Ovčáček, a spokesman for the president, in a press release.
According to him, Zeman will complete a reconditioning stay including infusions. However, he should have a regular work program next week.
On Wednesday, he is expected to meet with Minister of Finance Alena Schillerová, Civic Democratic Party leader Petr Fiala and Freedom and Direct Democracy chairman Tomio Okamura. A regular meeting with Interior Minister Jan Hamáček is planned for Thursday.
Zeman has already undergone stays in the hospital in the past to recuperate.
