Polish and Czech companies have signed an agreement to initiate production of the Tatra 4×4 vehicle in Poland during the International Defense Industry Exhibition in Kielce in Central Poland.
“The subject of the deal was the creation of the project and delivery of a ready 4×4 vehicle including complete technical documentation which will permit production in Poland,” the Polish Armaments Group (PGZ), of which Huta Stalowa Wola is a part of, stated.
The new vehicle will be offered to Polish armed forces for a variety of programs and projects.
PGZ underlined that the vehicle was obtained to broaden to offers for a chassis for command vehicles and other specialized builds, which require the usage of an advanced 4×4 carrier, such as artillery or missile equipment.
The new agreement also permits the export of the vehicle.
The CEO of Huta Stalowa Wola, Bartłomiej Zając, explained that through obtaining the rights to produce Tatra 4x4s in Poland, the company will be able to deliver specifically tailored solutions to the Polish armed forces which will fit the needs of artillery programs and more.
PGZ emphasized that the initiation of the vehicles’ production will also allow the Polish army to expand its offers for high-mobility vehicles meant to transport equipment and people.
The vehicle is meant to be a universal basis for several different specialized versions for a variety of military units.
