During an interview on TV Republika, President Andrzej Duda called out President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and Vice-President of the European Commission Vera Jourová for allowing illegal actions to take place in Poland due to Tusk being an accepted ally.

While state institutions and Poland’s highest offices “openly question” Poland’s laws, “(i)t is a pity that the authorities of the European Union, European institutions and the European Commission pretend not to see this.”

“Mrs. Jurova, Mrs. von der Leyen come to Poland,” he continued, “and practically before their eyes, further acts of lawlessness are taking place in our country, such as the illegal appointment of a pseudo-prosecutor general, who was appointed completely against the law, bypassing statutory procedures.”

Meanwhile, they claim the rule of law has been successfully restored in Poland, the president added.

In his opinion, “this is an obvious violation of all principles and the Polish constitution”, while representatives of European institutions not only do not see it, “but even dare to say that this is currently restoring the rule of law in Poland.”

“This shows the extraordinary hypocrisy of these people… For years their goal was to change the government in Poland and now that their colleague from the (EPP) — because after all, they are all from the same ruling coalition in the European Parliament, i.e., EPP — took office as prime minister in Poland, now everything is permissible and everything is possible,” said the president.

These same people openly questioned the activities of the previously democratically elected Polish authorities, who via a parliamentary majority implemented laws following all formal and legal constitutional procedures, Duda made sure to point out.

“They were talking about the lack of rule of law back then, when we were passing laws in Poland based on democratic principles in order to fulfill our election commitments,” he added.

He then again blasted the EU for blindly allowing the “implementation of obvious lawlessness” and “forceful solutions” by Donald Tusk and his colleagues.
