Poland’s border police acting on information from Poland’s Internal Security Agency (ABW) have detained a Lebanese citizen who was planning to organize a pan-European network of cells to carry out terrorist attacks.
According to the press spokesman of the minister responsible for security coordination, Stanisław Żaryn, the individual concerned was closely connected through family ties with ISIS operatives in Syria and Iraq. He had been in contact with ISIS members in EU states and engaged in their financing.
The man has been placed in a guarded center for detained aliens in Białystok where he will await a decision by the courts to deport him.
