PM Orbán is also scheduled to meet with President Miloš Zeman and Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Radek Vondráček during his trip. The prime minister will most likely be accompanied by some of his government’s ministers, more details are yet to be confirmed.
Even though Babiš often refers to Orbán as the one who swept the migrant quotas aside, according to a recent comparison published by Süddeutsche Zeitung, they don’t have much in common. SZ wrote that Babiš is closer to pragmatism while Orbán emphasizes national and religious dimensions of politics and often adds in historical parallels.
Last month, the Czech Chamber of Deputies supported Hungary in its dispute with the EU and labeled the European Parliament’s decision as wrong and unfortunate. It reminded that there are many politicians who support Orbán in the Czech Republic. Babiš earlier criticized the sanction process as an act showing a lack of solidarity with Hungary.
