In an interview for Polsat News, President Andrzej Duda broke his silence on the protests in Poland and referred to the situation surrounding the Constitutional Court’s verdict on abortion law.

“I am deeply saddened by this situation. I will say immediately that I understand the protesting women. I understand the situation even though everyone knows my views and are aware that I oppose eugenic abortion,” he said.

Duda explained that at first, when he heard about the verdict from the court that found eugenic abortion unconstitutional, he was pleased.
