The Polish Ministry of National Defense (MON) has announced an open competition for financing construction of or reparation of ranges. The ministry may cover up to 80 percent of expenses.
The condition necessary to be granted a subsidy by MON is possession of a property by the local government and the ability to cover 20 percent of the costs of construction or repair. MON is waiting for offers until September 21st, 2018. The competition is to be decided by October 19th, 2018.
MON explains that the project has been created in answer to rising interest in shooting sports as well as issues of security among Poles. It is meant to increase the shooting skills of Poles, which may be useful in crises or dangerous situations. One of the main institutions interested in the construction of these ranges is the Polish army itself.
A constructed or modernized range must fulfill safety conditions determined in regulations, to guarantee safety for its users. It must also possess a positive specialist opinion in terms of external ballistics and a final evaluation of safety conditions.
The Competition Committee will choose offers determined by formal and merit-based evaluations according to the points scored by the offers in their ranking list.
