Prime Minister Donald Tusk responded to the latest reports about Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, taking the opportunity to attack President Karol Nawrocki and Law and Justice (PiS) leader Jarosław Kaczyński.
“Orban declared to Putin that he is at his service in every matter. Karol Nawrocki, Jarosław Kaczyński, do you support Orban in this too?” Tusk asked on the X platform.
Tusk’s tweet is a reference to Bloomberg reports, cited by Do Rzeczy, revealing a transcript of a conversation between Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and Russian President Vladimir Putin on Oct. 17 of last year. During the conversation, the Hungarian prime minister allegedly offered the Russian leader all possible assistance “in any matter.”
“Yesterday, our friendship reached such a high level that I can help in any way possible,” Orbán reportedly told Putin. “I am available for any matter,” he emphasized.
Orbán explained that his contact with Putin allow him to actively engage in the negotiations to end the war in Ukraine. The Hungarian prime minister indicated that he was ready, for example, to organize a peace summit in Budapest.
The Hungarian prime minister responded on X, telling Tusk: “It’s true. I spoke with President Putin about ending the war and organising a USA-Russia peace summit in Budapest. What have you done for peace?”

Hungary is currently in the final stages of its election campaign ahead of the parliamentary elections scheduled for April 12. U.S. Vice President JD Vance arrived in Budapest on Tuesday, where he met with the prime minister and other leaders.
“President Trump supports Prime Minister Orbán because together they can do incredible things, and I’m here today to celebrate that cooperation. We’re supporting the prime minister as much as we can before the election,” Vance said at a press conference with Orbán.
