In the interview, Zeman highlighted the coherence of the V4 in topics they agreed upon, which was primarily migration. But he also had a dig at Slovak President Andrej Kiska, who, at the press conference, addressed the Nord Stream 2 project and warned of confidence in Russia in terms of his own strategic interests. “That was the personal opinion of Andrei Kiska but again, at the press conference, I am used to commenting on only what was the subject of the meeting,” Zeman said.
At the end of the interview, Zeman also commented on the point that it is pointless to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Czechoslovakian state that does not exist anymore. “If people do not have a sense of historical continuity, because today’s Czech Republic undoubtedly builds on Czechoslovakia, it is right to forget them.”
