The results of the parliamentary elections in Poland are widely commented on in European media. PM Mateusz Morawiecki has received congratulations from several EU leaders, including the V4 among others and European Commission head Jean Claude Juncker.
However, Donald Tusk has still not congratulated the PM, despite doing so for leaders of other EU states.
Juncker, despite being the leaving head of the EC, wrote that he “cannot wait to continue cooperation, so that we can face mutual challenges together.”
It can even be expected that the new Commission, under Ursula von der Leyen’s leadership, will be much more open to positive cooperation with the Polish government, thanks to the good relationship between von der Leyen and PM Morawiecki.
