According to Jiří Weigl, it is rather a project of the liberal left-wing Western elites that have dominated the political mainstream and are determining the agenda at national and international level.
Saying we should be careful not to be tricked, Weigl warns that the migration crisis is not only a fatal threat to the European future. At the same time, it is a phenomenon that shows how the original ideas of cooperation and integration in Europe have been transformed into something horrible.
The UN Migration Pact shows that mass migration is something positive and desirable for today’s Western mainstream. What is more important, the ideas behind this pact are (finally) an open explanation of the current approach of the EU institutions and the top European politicians led by Chancellor Merkel to mass migration.
Pointing to efforts to make migration a basic human right, Weigl also considers that main aim of the Pact is not to stop migration, but to make it easier and legal. More and more it is becoming obvious that the problem with redistributive quotas is far from over.
