The harrowing trial of Jordy Goukara, a Central African national with three deportation orders and 12 convictions, has come to an end. Goukara received 18 years in prison for raping Claire Géronimi and a young woman named Mathilde at knife point, but his statements during the trial are unlikely to ever be forgotten.
During the trial, the 27-year-old Goukara stated he “felt pleasure” during the rapes, which occurred in autumn of 2023, and explained that is why he keeps committing rapes and may even commit the act again, according to reporting from French media outlet Frontieres.
Describing the rape of his first victim, Mathilde, Goukara said: “I grabbed her by the arm, I told her: I want to f**k. I had to be a bit firmer and I told her: Open your mouth!” Goukara then added: “I started to take out my penis to put it in her mouth.”
The president of the Court reminded him of the fear felt by Mathilde. The accused replied: “I sensed in her a mixture of fear and excitement.”
Both women were present during the trial and routinely leaned on each other for support.
Goukara explained that after failing to ejaculate during the rape of Mathilde, as he was interrupted by someone in the building, he was still determined to rape someone else.
The African illegal migrant then went through his thought process, saying in court: “That day I was like on a mission, I’m a soldier, I told myself that I hadn’t succeeded in my mission.”
A few minutes later, he raped Claire Géronimi and threatened to kill her. Both rapes happened only 45 minutes apart, with the two locations also only 45 minutes apart.
Géronimi, who has gone public with the details of the incident, has appeared on a wide variety of national news outlets. She also has founded an association to support women who have gone through the same experience, saying that already 100 victims have come forward in just one year.

When asked by his lawyer about his relationship with France, he replied: “I am aware that France gives me more than I give to France.”
Finally, Goukara removed his shirt to show off his muscles in front of the victims’ lawyer and slapped his biceps to try to impress him.
In addition to Goukara’s 18-year prison sentence, he also received a ban from French territory. During the trial, he claimed he was a “victim.” He also made other claims, saying he was successful with women and “did not need to rape,” despite confessing to two rapes multiple times.
He claimed to have “dated 20 to 30 prostitutes” when he was only a minor, having arrived in France at the age of 16 and having a documented history of sexual violence and other crimes, according to Acut-Juridique.
“I have been successful since I was young. I am sure of my charisma, of my aura,” he said.
Right before the trial, Géronimi described her experience during the rape, saying: “I had the choice between dying or being raped.”
