On Saturday night in Paris, Polish boxer Julia Szeremeta delivered a true sporting spectacle filled with both athletic fervor and patriotic pride, stemming from her radiant smile, class, and authenticity.

From the first seconds of her bout against Taiwan’s Lin Yu-Ting, she gave her all. It was hard not to feel that in the battle for the gold medal, her opponent possessed a biological advantage. One of the commentators let slip while discussing the differences in strength in the ring, saying, “It’s physicality…” then corrected himself, “It’s… height.”

(Ed. note: Yu-Ting, along with Algeria’s Imane Khelif, have been embroiled in a gender controversy, with many questioning why they were allowed to fight as women by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) when both had been disqualified from doing so by the International Boxing Association (IBA) after blood tests showed they had XY chromosomes.)

“This silver tastes like gold,” added the commentators, hinting at suspicions regarding the gender of the Taiwanese competitor. Indeed, this silver is golden for Poland!

After the Lin – Szeremeta match, Polish President Andrzej Duda congratulated Julia on X and added that “it is painful to comment on other aspects of the fight.”

“Julia Szeremeta has won an Olympic silver medal in boxing for Poland, the first in decades. I think we are all immensely proud of her. She fought beautifully and bravely! It is painful to comment on other aspects of this fight. Ms. Julia! Bravo! We thank and congratulate you from the bottom of our hearts! You are a wonderful representative of Poland! Pride!” wrote President Duda.

Perhaps some readers are unaware that the leftist commentary has disdainfully addressed Julia Szeremeta. Their distaste was triggered by the fact that the Polish boxer ran for local elections under the Confederation party, and attempts were made to mock Julia even for being born in a small town, which actually highlights her heroism in overcoming athletes from around the world with greater access to sporting infrastructure.

Despite the testosterone of her opponent, despite the poor condition of Polish sports, and despite the pressure from a web blinded by progressive slogans, Julia simply kept winning in such a beautiful style that we frankly fell in love with her authenticity!
