The machine – installed at Lumen Café in the heart of Budapest’s “party district” – is operated by Hungarian independent copyright management agency MZK Publishing. The agency is also active in music publishing, online sales, artist management and bookings.
“CDs are more practical than cassette tapes, smaller than vinyl, are easy to produce and can be accompanied by very nice and colorful booklets,” MZK Publishing’s director Krisztián Muhari told Origo, adding that his company has a large domestic and international music portfolio.
Incidentally, Muhari is also a member of the Hungarian “Bohemian Betyars” speed folk fiddler band and all of their albums are also available from the vending machine.
