Poland is at the top of the 13th Coface and Rzeczpospolita Top 500 CEE ranking, followed by Hungary and the Czech Republic. The overall revenue for the region is EUR 652 billion.
Compared to 2017, there has been an 11.8 percent increase in total revenue and 80 percent of all the companies saw an increase in their revenues. This is significantly more than in previous years. To qualify, companies needed a revenue of at least EUR 445 million.
PKN Orlen is first in the ranking, followed by Czech Skoda Auto and Hungarian MOL. Fourth is Jeronimo Martins Biedronka Poland and fifth is Polish PGNiG.
Overall, 175 Polish businesses qualified for the ranking compared to last year’s 168. Polish companies had an overall revenue of EUR 262.4 billion. Poland is also the country most versatile when it comes to brands. Mining, pharmaceutics, chemicals, raw materials and plastics are the most represented.
Below are the financial results of companies in individual countries in billions of euros – the first table from the top is “revenue” and the second is “net profit”:
Poland leads in the ranking in terms of representatives. Hungary is second (71), but the Czech Republic (67) is a close third. For example, the Czech companies’ total revenue is higher than that of the Hungarians. There will be a strong rivalry for second place next year.

Romania is fourth with 56 representatives. Although it is significantly less than Hungary or the Czech Republic, the country has high potential when it comes to its domestic market. Romania’s population is 19.5 million people, just shy of Hungary’s and the Czech Republic’s combined.
Just like last year, motorization companies have the most representatives – 101. Second are companies from the fuel sector with 91 representatives.
