Following a historic Middle East peace deal and an end to the Gaza War, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán is celebrating an end to the bloodshed and drawing a stark contrast between the attitude of America’s leader and European leaders.
The entire world turned its attention to Egypt on Monday, where the international community celebrated the historic peace agreement in Gaza. Following the summit, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán wrote on X that Trump set an example in terms of diplomacy that would serve EU leaders well to follow.
“The guns have fallen silent, the hostages are free, and long-awaited peace reigns in the Middle East. President (Donald Trump) has made it happen! Now it’s Europe’s turn. President Trump’s success proves that we must never give up on negotiations. Without talks, there’s no peace. It’s time for us Europeans to follow President Trump’s example!” wrote Orbán.

According to the Hungarian prime minister, the U.S. president’s success sends a message that peace negotiations are not a sprint, but a marathon.
“Failure in peace negotiations is not a reason to retreat, but to continue,” he wrote in another post.
Orbán’s statements came after Trump lavished praise on Hungary’s leader during the summit.
Trump slams EU leaders indirectly. They hate Viktor Orban because he defends Hungarian culture.
“We have Hungary. Where is Viktor? We love Viktor. You are fantastic. I know a lot of people don't agree with me, but I'm the only one that matters."pic.twitter.com/qMGcFyhCCt

In a Facebook post, Viktor Orbán further criticized the impatience and offensiveness of European politicians.
“This perseverance and steadfastness is what Europeans lack. If something doesn’t go the way they think, they get offended and withdraw. It can’t be done that way,” wrote Orbán..
According to the Hungarian leader, Trump’s example shows that consistent, repeated diplomacy can bring about a breakthrough even in the most difficult conflicts.
“It could be like President Trump is doing. You have to fight him again and again. Sooner or later, he will succeed,” Orbán wrote.
He then concluded his message with a firm appeal, writing: “Get to work, dear Europeans!”
