The Russian military deployed an Oresnik-type hypersonic missile during a massive strike on critical targets in Ukraine, near the Polish border. Online reports are saying the missile, carrying multiple warheads, hit Ukraine’s largest gas storage facility, Stryi, in the Lviv region.
Russia’s defense ministry has said the nighttime strike was a response to a Ukrainian drone attack on the Russian president’s residence in the Novgorod region, Mandiner reports.
Alleged video of the strike was widely shared on social media. Reportedly, the strike was conducted as “retaliation.” for the strike on Putin’s residence.

According to rumors circulating on social media, the Russians struck the city of Lviv with the Oresnyk, which flew 1,800 km in just 12-13 minutes and reached speeds of over 10,000 km/h.
The Oresnyk (Russian for hazelnut) is a medium-range missile that can travel at 10 times the speed of sound. The missile can carry nuclear or conventional warheads and has a range sufficient to reach any European target.
