Poland’s Elimen Group startup will provide traction motors and controllers for electric vehicles in a new partnership with electric vehicle company Flash based out of India, reported Poland’s Assay Group, which is the co-owner of the Elimen startup. The cooperation will allow India’s Flash to expand into electric passenger car and commercial vehicle segments, since it previously only made two- and three-wheel electric vehicles.
“The cooperation will include projects and production of motors and controllers. The joint project will be the first undertaking of its kind in India,” the Assay Group stated. “Thanks to the cooperation with the Indian partner, Polish technical knowledge will be used in the dynamic electric two- and three-wheeler segment,” noted Cezary Klimont, the CEO of Poland’s Elimen Group.
“We are planning to expand the cooperation to the next vehicle segments,” announced Klimont, noting that India is one of the largest markets in Asia and in the world, and “the potential to develop electric components is massive.”
Flash is to produce and sell systems developed by the Polish company in India, while Elimen Group will cover other international markets. Flash is to invest close to €18 million into the joint project.
Flash has been operating on the Indian passenger vehicle market for the past three decades, participating in creating clean transportation in one of the most populated countries in the world. According to the managing director and founder of Flash Electronics, Sanjeev Vasdev, cooperation with the Polish partner will allow Flash not only to “diversify its present operations, but also strengthen its position in the environment of electric vehicles.”
