President Andrzej Duda revealed a plan to host a meeting between Three Seas leaders in Lublin Voivodship to show “how perfect” the investment conditions are in the region.
The president explained that the Polish government wants to finish the Via Carpatia road project which would run through Poland from the Lithuanian border and then onward to the Slovakian one, allowing people to travel between the Baltic States and Southern Europe.
“We are creating this for Poland’s development but also as part of our cooperation with our neighbors and states from our part of Europe as component of the Three Seas Initiative,” Duda said.
The Three Seas Initiative includes 12 countries in the region, stretching in a north-south axis from the Baltic Sea to the Adriatic Sea and the Black Sea. The countries include Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia.
The Polish president believes the Via Carpatia road project will accelerate the region’s tourism sector and open up new possibilities for business development. Duda says that he expects investors to take advantage of the regions interconnected position within Europe.
“We will fulfill this [goal] in the next few years,” Duda declared.
